About the event
Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and soar into a world of tranquility and inspiration with the National Concert Band of America's first concert of the season, "Above the Clouds."
The afternoon will feature the majestic sounds of James Curnow's "Where Never Lark or Eagle Flew," a piece that captures the awe-inspiring beauty of soaring through the skies. Eric Whitacre's "Lux Aurumque" will bathe you in a breathtaking glow of light and serenity, offering a moment of pure reflection. The program also highlights a captivating new work, Viet Cuong's "Moth," a piece that delves into the fascinating dualities of light and dark, beauty and grotesque, reality and fantasy. Cuong's composition is a daring exploration of the ultimate sacrifice—trading sensibility for grace.
Join the National Concert Band of America on October 20 and be transported "Above the Clouds" for an afternoon of music that transcends the ordinary.
